Purpose of the Blog

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Do you or someone you care about struggle with digestive problems, low energy, mood swings, unhealthy weight, and/or undesirable food cravings? I have managed an intestinal autoimmune illness for two decades and, more recently, have helped find management tools for my child's autoimmune illness. I have learned that many of the same recommendations I have researched and applied to our lives also apply to a wider audience.

I have created this blog to help people become more informed about how to actively participate in promoting their overall health, including making choices about the interwoven elements of nutrition, sleep, exercise, and stress management.

So how can I help people wanting to make positive health changes? As one friend put it, she wants "a one-stop shop. . . a place to go that will provide lists to save time and make life easier." I hope to do that for you by sharing what I have gathered over the years. I believe there are no quick fixes or magic bullets when it comes to health.  By having access to information and resources, you can consider what is best for you.

I plan to provide the following resources on this blog:
  • Ongoing lists of food, books and tools I use 
  • Current research related to the topics we discuss 
  • Tips for saving time and money while eating real food 
  • A community where ideas are shared and people are supported and motivated as they work to improve their health
  • Individual consultations will also be offered on a fee basis
