Many of the recipes I use are from cookbooks but are not available on the web. For example, two of my favorite recipes are for hot and sour soup and cashew bread from Eat Well, Feel Well: More Than 150 Delicious Specific Carbohydrate Diet(TM)-Compliant Recipes, but the recipes are not online.

I have also created many of my own recipes, including recipes for crock pot chicken, pulled pork, Asian wraps and enchiladas, by experimenting and adapting other recipes to make them SCD legal.  I will write a future post about how to adapt recipes.

Here are links to some of my favorite recipes that can be found online.  The site names are included in the links.  I am grateful to the generous people who have posted their recipes online for the rest of us to use!

I'll be adding to this list on an ongoing basis.  I'm starting by including a lot of baked goods because many people are reluctant to give up their familiar goodies in order to switch to a grain-free diet.  There are many delicious recipes and cookbooks for grain-free baked goods, but I want to caution that I don't recommend relying on those foods too heavily.

BAKED GOODS
Banana Bread  Note:  I use coconut instead of olive oil.

Breakfast Cookies  Note: I add a bit of honey and use raisins instead of currents.

Grain-Free Pumpkin Bars  Note: I do not make the glaze so they work better for breakfast.

Grain-Free Sandwich Bread

Jim's Fluffy Pancakes

Morning Glory Muffins

Pumpkin Spice Donuts

Sandwich Rounds

SCD Pumpkin Pancakes

DESSERTS
Amy's SCD Legal Lemon Bars

Cinnamon Stuffed Baked Apples

Sauerkraut

Sauerkraut - Salt Only

MAIN DISHES
Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce

Herb Roasted Sirloin Tip  Note: For SCD, make sure onion and garlic powders do not contain added starches.

Meat Loaf Muffins  Note:  For SCD, use fish sauce and/or coconut aminos instead of Worcestershire. (There is some debate about whether coconut aminos is a SCD legal ingredient. We use it, as do many other people on SCD, with no problems.)  I also cook my meatloaf in a 9" x 5" loaf pan at 350 degrees for about 55-60 minutes instead of cooking in muffin tins.

Spaghetti Squash Bolognese

Thai Style Coconut Curry

SNACKS
Baked Kale Chips

Beef Jerky

Egg Muffins

Fruit Leather

Guacamole

Salmon Cakes  Note:  Canned salmon is not technically SCD legal, but I use it as long as it is not packed in "broth" or contains any illegal ingredients.

Sweet & Sour Gummy Gelatin Snacks

Turkey Sausage

Smoky Beef Jerky  Note: There is some debate about whether coconut aminos is a SCD legal ingredient. We use it, as do many other people on SCD, with no problems.

SOUPS
25 Healthy Paleo Soup Recipes  Note:  Some of these recipes have ingredients that are not SCD legal such as turnips. If you follow SCD, remember to check your list of legal/illegal ingredients before choosing recipes.

Bone Broth

Spiced Pumpkin Soup  Note:  I substitute avocado oil for the canola and coconut milk for the cow's milk.  I do not use the yogurt.

VEGGIES
Brussels Sprouts Slaw

Cauliflower Fried Rice  Note:  For SCD, use coconut aminos instead of soy.  I add a little fish sauce, too. (There is some debate about whether coconut aminos is a SCD legal ingredient. We use it, as do many other people on SCD, with no problems.)

Cauliflower Rice

Prosciutto-Wrapped Asparagus Spears

YOGURT
SCD Yogurt
